The American singer was born and raised in Atchison, Kansas. He was born in 1965 but on some websites, his birth year is 1966. During his high school days, the singer learned to play guitar.

After completing his high school education, Rory worked at the United States Marine Corps for nearly eight years. Even though Rory was serving for his country, he was always passionate about the music. He soon left the service and chose to follow his dreams!

Rory started his musical career in Nashville, Texas where he worked as a songwriter. In the beginning, he often used to perform at nightclubs and bars. Later on, he gained huge appreciation by writing songs for other artists. This includes Blake Shelton, Tracy Byrd, Clary Walker, Kenny Chesney, Randy Travis, Lorrie Morgan, Mark Wills, and Terri Clark.

However, Rory’s first single release as a songwriter was Collin Raye’s Someone You Used To Know. He also wrote another song titled The Chain of Love for Clay Walker. In 2004, Rory founded the Giantslayer Records label.

Apart from this, Rory also has a career in filmmaking and storytelling. He wrote Shot much of and edited his doc-series titled The Life I Live. Rory also created a show Muletown In The Round and one educational series titled The One Room Schoolhouse. In addition to his, Rory even made a feature film Finding Josephine, one documentary To Joey, With Love, and music videos for the album Gentle Man.

In 1985, Rory got married to Tamara Gilmer and had two daughters named Heidi Feek and Hopie Feek. His first daughter Heidi followed in her father’s footsteps and became a successful musician. The couple got divorced after the birth of their second child Hopie.

In 2002, Rory got married to Joey Martin with whom he started the band Joey + Rory. The couple had a daughter named Indiana Boone who was born with Down Syndrome.  

In 2016, Rory’s second wife Joey died as he was suffering from metastatic cervical cancer after being diagnosed in 2014. As of now, rumors are spreading about Rory Feek’s new girlfriend.
