Different Concentrations Of Perfumes

  1. Parfum

Parfum is sometimes called Extrait de Parfum, pure perfume, or elixir. It contains the highest concentration of fragrance oil and is between 20 to 40%. Parfum contains a very low amount of alcohol compared to all fragrances. Because of this, the staying power of Parfum is the longest and will last for more than eight hours on the skin.

If we compare Eau de Parfum vs Elixir, Elixir is costly but is worthy as it performs much better than EDP.

  1. Eau de Toilette

After Parfum and EDP, Eau de Toilette is the highest-concentrated fragrance and it contains 5 to 15% fragrance oil. The alcohol content in this fragrance is slightly higher compared to Parfum and EDP. Eau de Toilette will stay for a good three to four hours on the skin and may require reapplication if needed.

  1. Eau de Cologne

Eau de Cologne contains a lower concentration of fragrance oil than Parfum, EDP, and EDT. This fragrance contains 2 to 5% fragrance oil and a very high concentration of alcohol. As the fragrance oil concentration is very low, it will last for up to two hours only!
